Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician who many have come to respect for her many achievements most especially on the individual level. The woman is a Democrat elected to Hawaii’s second congressional district. Following her steady rise in American politics, she has now become a subject of interest to a lot of people.

Who is Tulsi Gabbard?

As the fourth child in the family of five, Tulsi Gabbard was born on April 12, 1981, in Leloaloa, American Samoa. It was, however, in Hawaii that she was raised by her parents (Mike Gabbard and Carol Gabbard) as they moved there when she was still only a child.

For her education, the woman started with being taught at home. Next, she attended the Hawaii Pacific University from where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Her drive to studying the course was because her family was also into business and she became a part of it very early.

From a very young age, one thing that had always worked for her was her passion, and it was this, coupled with the fact that she has a politician father, that has helped in driving her into becoming a politician. As a teenager, she started a Non-Governmental Organization known as the Healthy Hawaiʻi Coalition and later co-founded the Stand Up For America.

Following in the footsteps of her father, Tulsi Gabbard chose to take a shot at the Hawai’i State Legislature. Only 21 at the time, the woman got elected and that made her the youngest person to be so elected. In the election to the Hawai’i State House of Representatives, she was given the opportunity to go in for District 42 in West Oahu.

In the 2004 elections, she decided to join the military and she was sent to Iraq alongside other soldiers from the 29th Brigade. Although she had the option of staying back in the House, she chose to join the forces in the Middle East.

After she was done from Iraq, Tulsi returned to serve as an aide to U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka. Soon afterwards, she got elected to serve in the Honolulu City Council in 2010. Tulsi Gabbard decided to shoot for the House in 2012 and with her victory, she got to serve in Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District.

She was a captain in the military until 2015 when she was promoted to the rank of a Major. She is serving in the Hawaii Army National Guard in the rank.

The beautiful congresswoman has been married twice thus far. Her first husband was Eduardo Tamayo. The two got married in 2002 and by 2006, they were already divorced. Before they parted ways, the public didn’t get to know anything about Tamayo.

In April 2015, she had her second marriage to Abraham Williams. Since they got married, the two have managed to maintain a very private relationship. Tulsi and Abraham Williams are yet to have any children.
