Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Amruta Khanvilkar share a close bond in iPhone film

Director Sachin Kundalkar’s Marathi movie Pondicherry is the first Marathi film to be shot entirely on an iPhone. The first poster of the film has been released.

The film has an interesting cast of Sai Tamhankar, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Amruta Khanvilkar, along with a strong supporting cast of Neena Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar and Tanmay Kulkarni.

The film’s poster appears fresh and colourful. It has Tatwawaadi, Khanvilkar and a child artiste. The embrace between the two leading artistes speaks about the strong emotional bond they share, though it is not possible to decode what exactly their relationship is.

The film’s title refers to the Union territory of Pondicherry in South India. The poster has a hint of the identifiable yellow and white French-inspired homes in the territory. It would be interesting to see how the place has been used as a setting for the story.

Kundalkar is known to strike a balance between modernism and tradition in his films. Going by the poster, Pondicherry appears to be on similar lines.

His previous film Gulabjaam (2018), which featured Sonali Kulkarni and Siddharth Chandekar, was highly appreciated and became a commercial success. Some of his other acclaimed films are Gandh (2009), Happy Journey (2014), Rajwade And Sons (2015) and Vazandar (2016).
