Fox Star Studios’ Total Dhamaal has completed a week at the box office. The film, directed by Indra Kumar, made a total of Rs93 crore nett in the first week, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com.
Total Dhamaal had enjoyed a good opening weekend during which it collected Rs61 crore nett. The multi-starrer comedy then went on to make Rs32 crore in the weekdays.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs105 crore, Total Dhamaal was released on 3,700 screens in India. According to sources, the satellite and digital rights have been sold for Rs52 crore [to Star], while the music rights [sold to T-Series] have fetched Rs7 crore.
The madcap comedy is the third film in the Dhamaal franchise after Dhamaal (2007) and Double Dhamaal (2011). Total Dhamaal boasts of an impressive star cast led by Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Jaaved Jaaferi.
Meanwhile, Gully Boy made Rs25 crore nett in its second week. The Excel Entertainment film, which was released on 14 February, has so far collected Rs123.38 crore nett in its India business.

Gully Boy Boy is made at an estimated budget of Rs75 crore, and was released on more than 4,000 screens in India. Producers Excel Entertainment have a Rs60-crore deal for combined, satellite, and digital rights [all sold to Zee].
Meanwhile, RSVP’s Uri: The Surgical Strike posted a record Rs6.25 crore nett in its seventh week. The Vicky Kaushal-starrer has so far made Rs236 crore nett in its India business so far.

It will be interesting to see how Total Dhamaal and other holdover releases fare this weekend as Maddock Films’ Luka Chuppi and RSVP’s Sonchiriya hits the screens.
