The highly anticipated trailer of Super Deluxe starring Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Akkineni, Fahadh Faasil and Ramya Krishnan was released on Friday amid high expectations.
The first impression of the trailer of Super Deluxe, directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja of Aaranya Kaandam (2010) fame, suggests that audiences are going to be taken on a psychedelic trip, one that is going to be very exciting.
In the trailer, all the characters in the film are introduced via a short story in Vijay Sethupathi’s voiceover. It is evident from the story that all the characters seem to be stuck in some kind of situation and are hoping for a way out.
If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Fahadh and Samantha play a couple who have to deal with a corpse while Ramya Krishnan plays a sex worker stuck with three youngsters.
Mysskin plays a preacher whose faith is questioned. Vijay Sethupathi plays a trans woman whose character is going to be the film’s biggest surprise, according to reports.
The film, confirmed for release on 29 March, has been co-written by Kumararaja with Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy, and Neelan K Sekar. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music.
For the first time in Tamil cinema, four directors have joined hands for a project and it will be really interesting to see what comes out of this collaboration.
Not long ago, Samantha described her character as shockingly different.
“I remember asking you ‘where and who can I possibly draw from, for this character’. Thank you for writing a character so shockingly different and helping me make it mine,” she had tweeted.
