The Maharashtra State Commission For Women is currently awaiting actress Tanushree Dutta to depose before the committee with regards to her accusation against actor Nana Patekar. The actress had levelled charges against Patekar of sexually harassing her on the sets of Rakesh Sarang’s Horn Ok Pleasss, which remained unreleased.
The Indian Express quoted Vijaya Rahatkar, chairperson of the comission as saying, “We have been waiting for her to appear before us for a detailed account to take the case further.” Rahatkar also added that the investigations by the police on the FIR filed by Dutta against Patekar are ongoing.
The commission has issued a directive to the Mumbai police to submit a detailed investigative report about the case in 10 days. In addition, a notice has been issued to the Cine Television Artiste’s Assoication (CINTAA) to explain what procedure they will adopt to address sexual harassment complaints.
Patekar, on his behalf, has completely denied the allegations. In his reply to the commission, the actor stated that the implications against him were false.
Dutta has alleged that Patekar, alongwith director Rakesh Sarang, producer Sami Siddiqui, and choreographer Ganesh Acharya misbehaved with her on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleasss.
