The first poster of director Irfan Kamal’s Satellite Shankar features a backpack adorned with several pins and badges, which seem like mementos and symbols from various parts of India, including Agra’s Taj Mahal, the tricolour and a cobra.
One of the badges also gives us a glimpse into the film’s leading man, Sooraj Pancholi saluting, with the snowy Himalayan mountains in the background. The tagline reads ‘the beginning of an extraordinary journey’.
The second poster depicts Lord Shiva’s image on what looks like a water bottle with the deity’s jata or hair made from a telephone cord, once again with the Himalayas in the background. ‘Life is a journey with one perfect end’, says the tagline.
The third poster finally puts Pancholi front and centre carrying the backpack with the badges and the water bottle with Lord Shiva’s image. This time the tagline is ‘Not all heroes go to the battlefield’.
While three posters of the film are out, Satellite Shankar’s release date is still six months away. The film is slated to be released on 5 July.
Pancholi shared the first poster on his Twitter account, writing, “Here’s a Glimpse of the beginning of an extraordinary journey!!#SatelliteShankar releasing 5th July 2019!”
A lot rides on Satellite Shankar for Pancholi, who failed to make a mark with his debut film Hero, released in 2015. It has been three years since his big launch film, produced by Salman Khan, and Pancholi, son of actor Aditya Pancholi, is perhaps on the lookout for a role and a film that establishes him as a talent.
Produced jointly by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, Satellite Shankar is the story of an Indian soldier’s travel adventures across the length and breadth of India, and his emergence as a hero.
The film has been shot across 10 different states.
