Simmba collects Rs6 crore nett on second Monday; film grosses Rs300 crore worldwide 

Actor Ranveer Singh’s maiden action masala film Simmba has turned out to be a grand success at the box office. The film is inching close to the Rs200 crore nett mark in domestic business.

The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, expected slower business in the week, but still collected a fairly good Rs6 crore nett on its second Monday, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. Simmba has now made Rs196.26 crore nett in its India business so far.

Starring Singh and Sara Ali Khan, Simmba is a remake of the Telugu film Temper (2015).

There was more joy for Simmba as it grossed Rs300 crore worldwide. Simmba becomes the fourth Hindi film in 2018 to gross over Rs300 crore in 2018.  

The action revenge drama’s worldwide collections so far stand at Rs310 crore [gross]. Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju topped the 2018 list as it grossed Rs578 crore worldwide, followed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat that made Rs545 crore. Simmba edged ahead of Salman Khan’s Race 3 that grossed Rs306 crore.

Made at an estimated budget of Rs120-125 crore, Simmba was released in 4,500 screens in India, and 963 screens in the overseas market.  

As per trade sources, the film has fetched around Rs75-80 crore through satellite and digital rights.
