Shah Rukh Khan’s new Zero promo has him borrowing a charming line from Dhanush

With one month to go, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, Zero, have stepped up the promotion of the film. The new promo video captures the character Bauaa with his very ladykiller attributes. Except, for once, the King Khan has borrowed a line from a very South Indian star, Dhanush.

Despite his dwarfish nature, Bauaa is never short on confidence. This confidence is projected through his dialogues.

One key line Bauaa says is, ‘Hum jaise laundon ko dekh kar pyaar nahi hota, dekhte dekhte ho jaata hai [People don’t fall in love with guys like me at first sight, but they fall in love slowly.].’

Surprisingly, the line is a mirror of another Aanand L Rai collaborator, Dhanush, from his film Padikathavan (2009). While it might not be familiar for Khan’s audiences in the north, the line certainly brings in its own charm in the Hindi language.

The promo also sheds more light on the unique relationship that Bauaa shares with Anushka Sharma’s paraplegic scientist in film. He tries to woo her with an all out celebration.

Zero is also facing some controversy with its portrayal of Khan wearing the gatka kirpan in the poster and trailer. While the makers have clarified that the dagger used is a katar, advocate Amritpal Singh Khalsa has filed a petition with the Bombay high court against the film.

Zero is scheduled to be released on 21 December.
