Samantha Ruth Prabhu begins preparations for Telugu remake of Korean film Miss Granny

Last seen playing an intrepid crime reporter in Tamil-Telugu bilingual thriller U-Turn (2018), Samantha Ruth Prabhu is getting ready to begin work on her next project, the yet-untitled Telugu remake of Korean comedy Miss Granny. She’s set to undergo drastic makeover for the project.

The actress wrote in a Twitter post: “Prepping for my most interesting character yet. I’ve realised I get scared a lot, I am nervous all the time, but I have never not accepted a challenge. Sometimes, actually most times you are stronger than you think you are.”

The film will be directed by Nandini Reddy, who had previously worked with Samantha in the Telugu comedy Jabardasth (2013). In a recent chat show featuring Rana Daggubati, Samantha revealed her next project is with Reddy; however, she didn’t give away other details regarding the project. Miss Granny is centered on a grandmother who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after clicking a picture in a mysterious studio.

It’s been a fabulous year for Samantha with blockbusters such as Irumbu Thirai (2018), Rangasthalam (2018) and Mahanati (2018) to her credit. She also has a Telugu romantic drama with her husband Naga Chaitanya in the lead.  The yet-untitled film, to be directed by Ninnu Kori (2017) fame Shiva Nirvana, marks their fourth time collaboration.

A few months ago it was also reported that Samantha will star in the Telugu remake of Tom Cruise’s Collateral, and the project was said to be directed by a former assistant of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of Arjun Reddy (2017). It’s been months since there has been any concrete development with regards to this project.
