Salman Khan to wrap up Dabangg 3 before beginning work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali film

Salman Khan is set to reunite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after 20 years. The duo had last worked together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).

Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films CEO Prerna Singh told the website mumbaimirror.com that the film, a love story, will be produced jointly by Bhansali and Khan.

According to the mumbaimirror.com report, shooting for the film is likely to begin in September this year. Before that, Khan will wrap up his shooting schedule for Dabangg 3.

According to a trade source, Salman Khan is expected to wind up the schedule for Bharat as well soon, since Dabangg 3 is likely to go on the floors next month.

“There is some shooting of Bharat remaining and Khan will start shooting for Dabangg 3 next month,” the source said. “The shooting will commence from Indore [in Madhya Pradesh], before they travel to places like Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani [in Maharashtra].”

Rumours about Khan and Bhansali coming together again have been doing the rounds for a while now. The news was first broken by trade analyst Atul Mohan in June last year.

The film is rumoured to be titled InshaAllah. Deepika Padukone was rumoured to play the female lead, but so far Bhansali is only said to have locked the script, and the male lead.

Khan and Bhansali had worked together in Khamoshi: The Musical (1996) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Bhansali was to make Bajirao Mastani with rumoured lovers Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, but that film got shelved after the bitter breakup between Khan and Rai.

Bhansali eventually went on to make the film with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in 2015.

Salman Khan will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat, which is scheduled for release on 5 June 2019.
