The song ‘Main Taare’ from Notebook speaks about the unusual love story between the characters played by debutants Pranutan Bahl and Zaheer Iqbal. The trailer revealed that they play lovers who haven’t met each other.
The overall feel of the song suits the mood of the film and the story. Vishal Mishra’s music is simple, yet melodious. The song hints at the location of the song fleetingly.
Manoj Muntashir’s poetic lyrics penetrate the heart as they describe the state of the protagonist’s heart filled with love to the brim. It speaks about Zaheer’s desire to be with the girl he loves although there is nothing special in him.
Salman Khan has produced the film under his banner Salman Khan Films. He also sings ‘Main Taare’ and sounds good. However, his voice seems to be different in this song, than say for example, the ‘Selfish’ song in his last film Race 3 (2018).
However, the only negative point here is Khan’s appearance in the song, along with the lead pair. He looks disinterested.
Notebook is directed by Nitin Kakkar. He is known for making the critically acclaimed Filmistan (2014). His last film Mitron (2018) was also appreciated by the critics, but the film bombed at the box office.
Notebook will be released on 29 March.
