Romeo Akbar Walter collects Rs21 crore on first weekend, Kesari continues its strong run in 3rd weekend

Romeo Akbar Walter, starring John Abraham, managed to touch Rs21 crore on its first weekend at the counters, according to reports from Boxofficeindia.com. The film, directed by Robbie Grewal, managed to add Rs15.75 crore on Saturday and Sunday to its collections.

While the spy thriller opened low on Friday with Rs5.25 crore, it was expected to improve on its collection on the Saturday and Sunday. It did manage to do so, but slightly.

On Saturday, the film collected Rs7.25 crore, and went on to improve to Rs8.50 crore on Sunday. Made at a budget of approximately Rs35 crore, the film needs to hold on to the growth on the first Monday. A severe drop on the working week might prove to be difficult for Romeo Akbar Walter.

On the other hand, Anurag Singh’s Kesari continued a strong run into its third weekend. The film, which released on 21 March, has now managed Rs140 crore nett in total. The film enjoyed a good weekend earning Rs7.25 crore this weekend.

Kesari’s major collection came from the northern circuits with North India (Delhi/Punjab/UP) accounting for Rs55 crore nett of its total collection. The Mumbai circuit has managed Rs34 crore nett.
