Rituparna Sengupta, Sreela Majumdar lend their voices to Indrasis Acharya’s Parcel

Actress Rituparna Sengupta and Sreela Majumdar have lent their voices to Indrasis Acharya’s upcoming thriller Parcel, in which they play important roles as well. Saswata Chatterjee will also feature in the film.

Acharya has not disclosed much about the plot; however, he has suggested that the thriller will explore the intensity of human emotions.

Joy Sarkar, who also composed for Acharya’s previous two critically acclaimed films Bilu Rakkhosh (2017) and Pupa (2018), is working on Parcel. In order to retain the realistic essence in his film, Acharya previously made Sudiptaa Chakraborty, who played a pivotal role in Pupa, sing a song in the film.

According to a report in The Times of India, now Sengupta has lent her voice for folk song ‘Brindabono Bilasini’ and Majumdar has sung ‘Amar Raat Pohalo Sharodoprate’ by Rabindranath Tagore under the direction of Sarkar for Parcel.

“It was quite an experiment,” Sengupta told the newspaper. “This time Joy has made me sing a very difficult song. There was a recording of Lopa Di [Lopamudra Mitra] that he made me listen to. I just followed his instructions,” she added. The actress has previously crooned a Tagore song in Muktodhara (2012).

For Majumdar, the idea of singing came as a surprise. “I had no idea that I had to sing. Suddenly, one day, Indrasis said that I have to do the recording. While Ritu sang a whole song, I just sang 8-10 lines. But it was such an amazing experience. I am shooting for the film currently and I am impressed with Indrasis’s way of filming. The way he has visualised the shots is really intriguing,” she said.
