Ramesh Taurani reveals sequel plans for Ishq Vishk

Actor Shahid Kapoor might have gone from a teenager to a father, but producer Ramesh Taurani is set to take the story of his debut further. The producer has stated that he is currently working on a sequel to Kapoor’s debut film, Ishq Vishk (2003).

Speaking to tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Taurani said, “Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance.”

The sequel, when announced, will be the latest in a slew of sequel films in the pipeline. These include Sadak (2019), Student Of The Year 2 (2019), Hindi Medium 2 (yet to be announced), among others.

Ishq Vishk marked the debut of Shahid Kapoor, who was in the leading role, alongside Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasury. The film is directed by Ken Ghosh, and won Kapoor the Filmfare award for Best Debut (Male) in 2004.
