Rajkummar Rao seems to be following up his impressive 2018 with a quick start to 2019. The actor’s first look from his upcoming film, Made In China, was released on 1 January 2019.
Directed by Mikhil Musale, Made In China will feature Rajkummar as a Gujarati businessman who sets out to establish his business in China. The film will be released in theatres on 30 August 2019.
The first look shared by Rajkummar on Twitter on the first day of the year captures the sense of entrepreneurship as well as confusion that his character is going through. Dressed in a suit, the actor is carrying an entire sack of his wares as he wanders down the streets of China.
The film was initially scheduled to be released on 15 August 2019, but was postponed to avoid clashes with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Mission Mangal.
Made In China is a comedy drama and will see Mouni Roy featured opposite Rajkummar Rao for the first time in their careers. The actress is likely to play his wife.
The film will also have Boman Irani reportedly playing a doctor again, after his iconic role in Munna Bhai MBBS (2003).
Rajkummar has a busy schedule for 2019. The actor will be featured opposite Sonam Kapoor in the Shelly Chopra Dhar directorial, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga. He also has the Hansal Mehta comedy, Turram Khan, and Mental Hai Kya! opposite Kangana Ranaut.
Made In China is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, which has also signed on Rajkummar for another untitled horror comedy.
