2.0 review: Rajinikanth reboots as the star of this fantastic, entertaining 3D universe
Meanwhile, the science-fiction action extravaganza, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, is on its way to breach into the Rs500 crore club worldwide in less than a week since it released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Trade sources claim that the Hindi version of the film is doing better business than the other languages. On Tuesday (4 December), trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the Hindi version has already zoomed past Rs100 crore nett and the collection has been super strong even on the first Monday (3 December). Akshay has made his maiden southern outing, as the antagonist in 2.0, and that worked wonders for Hindi version as it brought audiences to the theatres.
The film also features Amy Jackson as Nila, a humanoid robot who works as an assistant to Rajinikanth’s Vaseegaran. 2.0 also featured Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in key roles.
The film’s story revolves around an ornithologist who loses his fight to telecom companies while trying to save birds from dying from the emission of mobile towers, and then uses the fifth force to wreak havoc and take revenge.
