Plenty of Hindi films have explored stories about a man torn between two women. Govinda’s films like Saajan Chale Sasural (1996) and Sandwich (2006) immediately come to mind.
Marathi cinema will get a film on this subject in director Mrunal Kulkarni’s Ti And Ti. It is about Anay Pandit (Pushkar Jog). He fell in love with a girl when he was in the fourth standard. Years later, he meets the girl, Priyanka (Sonalee Kulkarni) in London and is delighted to see her.
But the problem is that he is on his honeymoon there with his wife Sai (Prarthana Behere). Even though he is now married to someone else, he lies to Priyanka to rekindle a friendship with her. He chooses to juggle between the two women.
While the treatment is supposedly humourous, the premise is deeply flawed.
The Ti And Ti trailer boasts of a rich production design in the colourful and vibrant London. Jog, Kulkarni and Behere appear to be comfortable in their roles. However, the trailer reveals a lot about the story.
Ti And Ti will be released on 1 March.
