The title track of Bidula Bhattacharya’s Prem Amar 2 is out now. Composed by Savvy Gupta, the song has been sung by Kunal Ganjawala and written by Anyaman. Prem Amar 2 stars Adrit Roy, Sourav Das and Bangladeshi actress Puja Cherry Roy in the lead roles.
Prem Amar 2 title track is a typical romantic number with a common tune that reminds of many other songs from the similar genre of films. The song features Apurba (Cherry) and Joy (Roy) romancing and enjoying the feeling of being deeply in love.
They steal glances while playing basketball in the college campus, or often from the terraces of their homes facing each other. Playing pranks is also a part of their romance. They are seen enjoying blissful camp nights in each other’s company.
Teens may take interest in this kind of love story; however, the expressions of the male protagonist seem extremely clichéd. The boy is often a simpleton — an idea that has been exhausted in romantic comedies for ages.
The lyrics convey the yearning to be with the beloved plainly, without any play with the words or suggesting deep thoughts. The song is shot nicely with an essence of a fairy tale romance. Ganjawala has many songs with a similar approach to his credit and his rendition of this number doesn’t offer anything new. The Prem Amar 2 title track is an average romantic song.
Prem Amar 2 is slated to be released on 25 January.
