Career
In 2012, Poonamben became a member of State Legislative Assembly. In 2014 Lok Sabha Election, she contested as a Bhartiya Janta Party’s candidate from Jamnagar constituency and won. On September 2014, she was elected as a member of Committee on Empowerment of Women Member, Standing Committee on Industry, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Poonamben made headlines when in an event named ‘Bhagwat Katha’ organised in Veraval, Gujarat, she was seen dancing. The interesting part is that she was showered with over 3 Crore rupees in merely 30 seconds.
