He is the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL), as well as its executive vice president. Before taking over the Seahawks, he has also managed New York Jets and New England Patriots in the league and University of Southern California (USC) football team, USC Trojans.

Pete Carroll Biography and Age

September 15, 1951, was the day the Seahawk manager was born and named Peter Clay Carroll in San Francisco, California. He is of Irish and Croatian descent and was raised in California by his parents, Rita (née Ban) and James Edward Carroll.

For his education, Pete went to Redwood High School where he found it quite hard as a freshman to get involved in sports as a result of his physical structure, although he was very good in athletics when he was growing up. Still, he would go ahead to play football, basketball, and baseball to which he was good enough in all to be honored as the school’s athlete of the year in 1969.

After Pete graduated from high school, he proceeded to the College of Marin before moving to the University of the Pacific but was unable to go pro after he graduated.

He began his career as a graduate assistant for the Pacific Tigers Football team and then the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. Having risen through the ranks, he became the head coach of New York Jets in 1994 before moving to San Francisco 49ers as the defensive coordinator in 1995. Two years later, he was with the New England Patriots as the head coach until 1999. Pete Carroll was appointed USC’s head coach in 2001 and he remained in the position until 2009. 2010 saw him moving to Seattle Seahawks where he still remains.

Named the Home Depot Coach of the Year in 2003, Pete Carroll won the Super Bowl in 2013, and the NFC championship in 2013 and 2014. More so, he is a National Champion twice, Rose Bowl champion four times, Orange Bowl champion two times, and Pac-10 champion seven times.

He has been inducted into the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015, the Redwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009, and Pacific Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.

Pete Carroll has thus far been married twice. The first time he got married was in 1973 to Wendy Pearl. Unfortunately, the two were not meant to last forever as the marriage ended in 1975. The next time he got married was only a year after his marriage ended, and this time around it was to Glena Goranson.

It was when he was a student at the University of the Pacific that Pete met Glena Goranson who would go on to become his wife. Both Pete and Glena were involved in sports with the Seatle’s head coach playing football while Glena played indoor volleyball.

Although his first and rather short marriage did not produce any child, Carroll now has three children with his wife. Their oldest son, Brennan, also has his eyes on becoming a football coach. He worked with his father as a graduate assistant while he was at USC and then as wide receivers coach for the University of Miami where he first worked as tight end coach and recruiting coordinator.

While his son followed his path, his daughter, Jasmine chose the path of Glena as she also played indoor volleyball while she was at USC. With that said, there should be no surprise that Nate, who is Pete’s second son also attended USC and works around with Seahawk.

You will not find too many coaches as good as Pete Carroll in the sports going by his numerous achievements. A Super Bowl champion, Pete has a net worth that has been estimated at $20 million. He was given a contract in 2016 by the Seattle Seahawks that would see him remain with the team through 2019. Even though the contract is not disclosed, he is said to be making an annual salary of up to $8 million.
