Actor and filmmaker Parambrata Chatterjee has been roped in for Shabnam Firdausi’s upcoming film Ajob Karkhana. Bangladeshi journalist and filmmaker Firdausi is known for his documentaries.
Speaking to The Times of India newspaper about the film, Chatterjee said, “Ajob Karkhana chronicles the journey of a rock star. Not only is he into heavy rock music, but he also leads the lifestyle of a rock star, somewhat wasteful.”
The character eventually takes up an assignment to host a television show, during the course of which he has certain encounters that transform his life.
The actor’s previous Bangladeshi project was Fakhrul Arefeen Khan’s Bhuban Majhi (2017). Another film of his, Shonibar Bikel, directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, has been selected for the main competition category at the 41st Moscow International Film Festival.
Chatterjee believes Shonibar Bikel (2019) is one of the most important South Asian films made in recent times. “I am glad it has been selected in the prestigious film festival,” he said. “No such film has been made in recent times. The philosophy of the film sets it apart.” The actor is hoping the film will win many more accolades.
