Pahlaj Nihalani ropes Mishika Chourasia for I Love You Boss! that was once offered to Kangana Ranaut

Producer Pahlaj Nihalani has roped in Mishika Chourasia as the lead for his next, titled I Love You Boss!. There was some confusion over her role in Rangeela Raja (2019), but there is none with her next.

Apparently, in the early part of the 2000s, Nihalani had planned the same film with a young Kangana Ranaut, who could have made her debut with this film.

Recalling the same, Nihalani told Cinestaan.com, “Yes, I first wanted to make this film with Kangana Ranaut in the lead. The film was to have Amitabh Bachchan and three other male actors but unfortunately, it couldn’t be made with Ranaut.”

It has been long wait to find a suitable actress.

“I didn’t find any other actress with whom I could make the film. It’s taken me over 10 years to find the right girl [Chourasia] for this challenging role. The spark that I saw in Kangana then, I see the same spark in Chourasia,” added Nihalani.

Chourasia will be making her debut with Rangeela Raja that will be released on 18 January.

When asked why the film couldn’t be made with Ranaut, Nihalani said, “Kangana had signed for my film. We had even shot three songs and just before the film was to go on the floors, she got a three-film offer from Mahesh Bhatt. We parted amicably.”

Ranaut would then go on to make her debut with Gangster (2006), produced by Bhatt, that proved to be a commercial and critical success.

Fast forward to 2019, Nihalani has revived his film with the young Chourasia.

The veteran film producer ruled out any possibility of Bachchan now being part of it. “No, there is no Amitabh in the film. So far, we have signed Chourasia. We are working on finding the rest of the cast. The prime story remains the same but it will have a different treatment,” said Nihalani.
