As actress Alia Bhatt turns 26 today, the makers of her next film, Kalank (2019) have released a new look to her character, Roop in the film.
Producer Karan Johar shared the new poster and wrote, “Courage has never looked this beautiful! Meet the feisty Roop!”
The teaser of the film suggests of a love triangle between her character and those of Varun Dhawan’s Zafar and Aditya Roy Kapur’s Dev. Both actors also had new poster revealed for their characters yesterday. However, interestingly, Roop’s image is set against a backdrop of a retelling of the Ramayan in the film, where Sita is captured by Raavan. It remains to be seen how the tale fits into the period film directed by Abhishek Varman.
Besides Kalank, the actress is starring in the trilogy Brahmastra (2019) with Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan. She was announced as one of the stars of SS Rajamouli’s period film, RRR (2020), along with Ajay Devgn, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, just yesterday.
The young star, who has already gotten good reviews for her performances in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019) sure seems to have the next couple of years sorted.
Kalank, also starring Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, is due to be released on 17 April.
