Never thought it would be possible to take a selfie with myself

Ahead of her big December release, Aanand L Rai’s Zero (2018), actress Anushka Sharma headed to the city-state of Singapore to present her wax statue at the Madame Tussauds museum.

Sharma’s wax likeness will be the first ever interactive wax statue at any of the museum locations around the world.

The actress, dressed in a black off-shoulder pant suit, attended the grand unveiling and told the assembled crowd and media, “I never thought it would be possible to take a selfie with myself.”

She recalled seeing Shah Rukh Khan’s statue first in London and thinking what an incredible honour it was, and never expected to unveil her own, one day. The moment was surreal, she stated.

Her wax statue was unveiled to music from her 2010 hit Band Baaja Baaraat and, of course, the first thing she did was take a selfie with her interactive double.

She even managed to fool some fans into thinking she was the statue when she posed as her double. She gave a group of girls quite a scare when she spoke out loud, “Get away!”

Anushka Sharma joins other Indian stars Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit and Ranbir Kapoor in having their likenesses in the museum. The Indian stars are part of the IIFA awards experience at the popular tourist attraction.

Meanwhile, Sharma’s husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, has his own wax statue back home in India at Madame Tussauds in New Delhi.
