Nawazuddin Siddiqui to act in, produce Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s No Land’s Man

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui continues his run of choosing a wide variety of roles. After playing the lead in the biopics Manto (2018) and Thackeray (2019), two very different personalities, the actor is turning producer on his next film, No Land’s Man, by Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.

The news of the casting was first announced by Variety.com. The report states that No Land’s Man will feature Siddiqui as a man “whose journey takes layered and complicated shape when he meets an Australian girl in the US”. The screenplay is both tragic and comic.

“The script explores today’s strange world, with strong humour, satire, and emotion. I felt compelled to be associated with the project in more than just the capacity of an actor, as I thought this is that kind of film which really needs to be made,” the star told Variety.com.

Siddiqui also has the second season of the popular Netflix series Sacred Games and the films Bole Chudiyan and Motichoor Chaknachoor up for release this year. He recently starred with Sanya Malhotra in Ritesh Batra’s Photograph (2018).

Farooki has previously worked with Indian actors Irrfan Khan and Parambrata Chatterjee on the films Doob (2017) and Saturday Afternoon (2019), respectively. He will co-produce the project with his wife, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha.

Shooting for No Land’s Man is expected to begin later this year.
