Nandamuri is the fourth son of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. His father was an actor and founder of Telugu Desam Party (TDP). His mother name is Basava Taraka.

Nandamuri made his acting debut in 1964 as a child artist. In that movie Sri Krishnavataram as a little Krishna which is directed by Kamalakara Kameshwara Rao. Later he starred in 1970 in a film Talla Pellamma which is followed by Tatamma Kala, Ram Raheem in 1974 and Daana Veera Shura Karna in 1977.
After a long year, a gap he enters into an acting career as a guest role in the film Mohan Babu directed by Sri Ramuayya. Similarly, his most notable films are Laahiri Laahiri Laahirilo in 2002 and Seetayya in 2003, which are directed by YVS Chowdary; these films are biggest hits of his career.

At that time his Toyota Fortuner crashed into a road median on Nalgonda Highway near Narkatpally which led to his death.
