Mimi Chakraborty makes singing debut with unplugged version of ‘Keno Je Toke’ in Mon Jaane Na

Actress Mimi Chakraborty is all set to make her debut as a playback singer in her upcoming film Mon Jaane Na by Shagufta Rafique.

In the film, the actress features as Pari, the sole love interest of Amir, played by Yash Dasgupta. Chakraborty will lend her voice to the unplugged version of ‘Keno Je Toke’, sung by Raj Barman and composed by Dabbu Ghoshal.

Penned by Prasen, ‘Keno Je Toke’ is a romantic ballad that features Amir and Pari enjoying the bliss of their budding romance after their marriage. The unplugged version by Chakraborty will reportedly be used as the end credit song sequence and feature the actress as well.

“After the song became a runaway hit with almost 1.7 million views on Youtube, I was asked to sing a reprised version of it,” said Chakraborty in an interview with The Times of India daily. The actress also added that she loves singing. “I have had many complementing on my voice too. Honestly, it is a nerve-wracking moment for me,” she added.

Though Chakraborty is quite nervous regarding her first playback, she is confident that she is going to enjoy every bit of the experience. “I have always dreamt of having my own music album. I hope this song paves the way towards that dream,” said the young actress.

Mon Jaane Na is slated for release on 22 March.
