Manikarnika will come as per schedule, says source refuting delay claims

This Republic Day weekend will see a clash between Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi and Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30, as both are scheduled to be released on 25 January 2019. Apart from the box office clash, what adds spice to this tussle is the frail relationship between Hrithik and Ranaut.

A report in the Deccan Chronicle, a daily, claimed that the clash may not happen afterall as Manikarnika is struggling to be on schedule.

The report quoted an actor from the film’s cast as saying, “There’s a whole lot of work still pending. The post-production and the special effects are far from done. There are big epic-scaled battle sequences which require a lot of CGI. Also, Kangana insisted on re-shooting some of the battle sequences after she took over the direction. This proved costly and time-consuming, as the shooting and special effects had to be done again. So, I don’t know if the film will make it on schedule.”

However, a source associated with the film has rubbished the news.

“There is no truth to it. Manikarnika will come as per schedule. Yes, there is some post-production work remaining but there is still over a month for the film’s release. We expect all post-production work to be ready by first week of January. Within a week, the makers will announce the trailer launch and decide on launching their music. The makers will also send their film for certification soon,” the source asserted.

Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is based on the life the warrior queen Rani Laxmibai.
