Biography/Wiki

Manika Batra (born on 15 June 1995) is an Indian from Naraina Vihar in New Delhi. She liked to play table tennis at the age of five and during her school days, she got professional training of the game from the coach Sandeep Gupta. At the age of 8, she won the under-8-state-level-tournament.

Physical Appearance

Manika Batra has a fit physique of 34-28-34 with 6′ height and 65-kilogram weight. Her flexible body helps her to take different movements to handle all types of shots and her good strength with intelligence moves a ball at different angles as per the situations and requirements.

Family, Caste & Boyfriend

She belongs to a simple Hindu family. Her father Girish Batra supported her a lot to take table tennis as a career and appreciates her every match. She brought up in an environment of table tennis loved people as her elder brother Sahil and elder sister Anchal both play this game. Manika is still single and focuses on her career only.

Career

Manika completed her secondary education from the Hans Raj Model School, New Delhi, and then studied in the Jesus and Mary College in the same city. But she dropped out from college in the first year of graduation to pursue her career in the table tennis.

In 2008, at the age of 13 only, she represented India on an International level tournament.

In 2011, she won a silver medal in the Chile Open Under-21 category. Manika, accompanying Mouma Das and Ankita Das won the silver medal both in women’s team event and women’s doubles event in 2015 Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship and then won the bronze in women’s singles events in the same year for the same championship.

In 2016 South Asian Games, she conquered 3 gold medals, first along with Pooja Sahasrabudhe in women’s doubles event, then conjointly Anthony Amalraj in the mixed doubles event and finally together with Mouma Das and Shamini Kumaresan in women’s team event.

In 2018 Commonwealth Games, Manika, in conjunction with other women team members of India, again earned a gold medal for India.
