Krishna Kapoor was born on 30 December 1930 in Rewa state, Madhya Pradesh, India. She was Prithviraj Kapoor’s cousin as she was Prithviraj’s mother’s brother’s daughter. She got married to Raj Kapoor at the age of 16. She was the grandmother of Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor.
Her son, Randhir told to PTI that, “My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest… old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise.”
Health Issues/Death
Krishna had been complaining about breathlessness for the last few years of her life. She even got hospitalized because of it in the past. She passed away following a cardiac arrest at around 5 am on 1 October 2018. She was 87 at the time of her death.

She was born into a Punjabi Hindu Khatri family to Raisaheb Kartar Nath Malhotra who was an Inspector General of Police of Rewa state, Madhya Pradesh, India. Her father had 3 wives. She had 13 siblings including Prem Nath (Actor),

and Uma Chopra.
In May 1946, she got married to actor, filmmaker, Raj Kapoor.
The couple together had 5 children. Three sons, Randhir Kapoor (Actor), Rishi Kapoor (Actor), Rajiv Kapoor (Actor)
and two daughters, Rima Jain, and Ritu Nanda.
She was the grandmother of Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Armaan Jain, Nikhil Nanda, Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, Natasha Nanda, and Aadar Jain.

Krishna was just 16 years when she got married to Raj Kapoor. Even her Matric result came after her marriage, which she had passed with distinction marks. She did not study further after her marriage.
