Last seen playing an adventure freak in Dev (2019), Karthi has commenced shooting for his next project with director Bakkiyaraj Kannan. The yet-untitled film recently went on the floors and it also stars Kannada sensation Rashmika Mandanna, who is making her Tamil debut in this project.
The latest update is that Kannada actor Ramachandra Raju, who played the antagonist in KGF, has been roped in to play the villain in the film.
According to sources, Ram has already shot for his portion briefly in the first schedule of the film. He will once again join the sets in the second schedule.
Tipped to be a romantic action-comedy, the film marks the maiden collaboration of Karthi and director Kannan, best known for helming Remo.
The project, to be shot in Chennai and Hyderabad, is being bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures.
Vivek-Mervin duo has been signed to compose music for this film, which will have cinematography handled by Sathyan Sooryan. Jai (art), Dhilip Subbarayan (stunts), Rajeevan (production design) and Ruben (editing) and Aravind Raj Bhaskaran (executive producer) are the other technicians on board this film.
Following the debacle of Dev (2019) it is believed that Karthi has pinned high hopes on this project.
Currently sporting thick bearded look for Kanagaraj’s film Kaithi (2019); Karthi will go clean-shaven for Kannan’s film and will also shed some weight to look leaner. Rashmika, on other hand, currently awaits the release of Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade (2019).
