Kedarnath trailer has Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan battle for love, life.

Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath captures the tale of a tumultous love story set against the backdrop of the devastating floods of Uttarakhand in 2013. Featuring Sara Ali Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput and Nitish Bhardwaj, the trailer finally brings to light the story that has been gripped in delays and controversies since its announcement.

It begins with the sight of Sushant Singh Rajput’s Mansoor (Sushant Singh Rajput) voicing his concern about the growing pressures of tourism on the little valley of Kedarnath. From the beginning, the trailer pits Mansoor’s pithoo (carrier) against the other religious Hindus in the valley. His religion has not stopped Mansoor, like many others, to serve pilgrims travelling to Kedarnath. It is here that he falls for the vivacious pilgrim (played by Sara Ali Khan) only for religion to come in the way, again. The trouble reaches a climax with the devastating floods that almost annihilated the valleys in Uttarakhand.

The effortless presence of Rajput and the impact of Khan is improved upon by a gripping trailer. While Rajput has proven his credentials, it is Khan’s charm and presence that makes for an interesting watch. The debut actress has traits of her mother, Amrita Singh, but comparisons will have to wait.

While it has a very familiar tale of inter-faith love, the trailer to Abhishek Kapoor’s film touches upon multiple elements of environmental concern, the dichotomous and multi-cultural ethos of Kedarnath, and the devastating floods that destroyed the valley. The sight of the flood descending down the valley is an awe-inspiring one, and might be a sight to watch in theatres.
