Nani-starrer Jersey has turned out to be the film of the year with some great response from the critics, audience, and media. A special ‘thank you meet’ was held last night in Hyderabad and Rana Daggubati was the chief guest.
Jersey, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is about a former Ranji player who returns to playing cricket at 36 for the sake of his son.
The film has so far earned unanimous praise from all quarters. Daggubati was quite moved by the film that he called and appreciated Nani for his performance.

Speaking at the event, Daggubati said: “Nani is one actor who keeps inspiring me time and again and he has done that once again with his performance in Jersey. The entire team deserves special applause and Jersey is a film which will remain special forever in the hearts of many. I welcome Shraddha to the Telugu industry and hope Nani keeps flying high like this forever.”
The film marked the Telugu debut of Shraddha, who played Nani’s wife.
Nani has been thrilled with the response. He said: “Generally, many keep sending congrats messages for about three days of the film’s release. But for Jersey, the messages haven’t stopped.”
“Every message has been special and emotional. They are like love letters and even after a week, they have been increasing. Jersey will always be a special film and I thank Gowtam for bringing this to me. Finally, I thank Rana for coming in as the chief guest and speaking such lovely words about the film.”
In its first week worldwide, Jersey grossed around Rs50 crore at the box office.
