Its extended weekend was great, but Gully Boy couldn’t earn much in the weekdays. The film has picked up Rs99 crore nett in the extended week period, as reported by Boxofficeindia.com. After racking up Rs71.50 crore nett in the extended weekend, Gully Boy could make Rs 27.5crore in the weekdays.
Produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, and directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy is made at an estimated budget of Rs75 crore and the film was released on more than 4,000 screens in India. The producers have a Rs60-crore deal for combined, satellite, and digital rights [all sold to Zee]. Gully Boy will hope to pick up business over the weekend.

The film is based on the life of rappers DIVINE and Naezy. It features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, despite stiff competition from Gully Boy, holdover release Uri: The Surgical Strike continued to pull in impressive numbers at the box office. The Vicky Kaushal-starrer picked up Rs11.50 crore nett in its sixth week. The film has so far collected Rs230 crore nett at the box office.

Uri has set a record collection for the sixth week, beating the record of the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) that made Rs5.38 crore nett. Uri stands a chance of surpassing Singh-starrer Simmba (2018) that had more screens and made Rs240.10 crore nett.
Produced by RSVP and directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri is based on the Indian Army’s surgical strike in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation against the terror attack in the Uri district of Jammu & Kashmir.
