Ghost Rider TV Series Coming to Hulu Starring Gabriel Luna

Hulu announced that they’re continuing to grow their lineup of Marvel shows (which makes sense since Disney is a majority owner in the streaming service as opposed to something like Netflix, which canceled all of its Marvel series). The streaming service already plays host to Marvel’s Runaways, and they’ve also lined up “Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K, Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show and Marvel’s Howard The Duck, which will culminate in a special event, Marvel’s The Offenders.” Now they’re adding two more live-action shows to the service.

The streaming service announced today that they’re planning to bring Marvel’s Ghost Rider and Marvel’s Helstrom to Hulu in 2020. Per the press release:

Marvel’s Ghost Rider, also known as Robbie Reyes, is a quintessential antihero, consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. Reyes lives on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields. Marvel’s Ghost Rider is executive produced by Ingrid Escajeda, who will serve as showrunner, Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.

Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer in Marvel’s Helstrom. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills. Marvel’s Helstrom is executive produced by Paul Zbyszewski, who will serve as showrunner and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.

Variety adds that Gabriel Luna will reprise his role as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider. However, “sources stress that this will be a completely new iteration of the character in no way connected to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. storyline.” You know your show is good when no one wants to be associated with it even though they share the same executive producer in Jeph Loeb.
