The makers of actor Chiranjeevi’s upcoming historic drama Syeraa Narasimha Reddy on Tuesday unveiled the first look of actor Jagapathi Babu’s character from the film.
A motion poster was also unveiled introducing Babu’s character. Sporting a thick beard and long locks, he plays a character called Veera Reddy and going by the first look poster, it appears to be a dynamic role.
The first look poster was released to coincide with Babu’s birthday which happens to be today. In a recent interview, he said that he was thrilled to be part of the project which will go down as a special film in the history of Telugu cinema.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep and Nayanthara among others.
Tamannaah Bhatia was recently signed for a crucial role. Contrary to the rumours that she plays just a cameo, it is learnt that she essays an important character.
Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman was originally signed for the project. However, last December he opted out of the project, citing scheduling conflict and his exit came as a big blow to the makers. Last year, he told reporters in Hyderabad that he had to opt out of the project due to other commitments.
“I was looking forward to working on this project, but things didn’t work out as per my schedule. Even though I wanted to work on this project, things didn’t work in my favour as there’s only a certain amount of work one can take up.”
The makers signed Amit Trivedi as Rahman’s replacement to compose music. Ram Charan is producing the film at a budget of Rs150 crore.
