When it comes to broadcasting, Ed Henry and others as good as he is deserve an honorable mention as masters of the profession. He was a senior White House Correspondent and later the Chief National Correspondent for Fox News Channel and formerly CNN’s senior White House Correspondent, a position he lost following an extra-marital affair case that came up against him at the time.

Here, you will know more about it and what became of Ed Henry thereafter, in addition to learning about his family.

Background And Career Begining

The American broadcast journalist Edward “Ed” Henry was born on July 20, 1971, in Queens, New York City, New York, United States. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Siena College in Loudonville, New York.

After his college graduation, Ed began his career, working as a political analyst for WMAL Morning News and The Chris Core Show. Also, he worked as a Senate correspondent at Roll Call for journalist Jack Anderson with whom he rose to become a senior editor. Ed, in addition, worked in the same capacity for WMAL-AM, C-SPAN, and WUSA-TV (CBS 9).

Ed Henry joined the Cable News Network (CNN) in 2004 and began working as a moderator in their Inside Politics broadcast in 2005. He became a CNN correspondent at the White House in 2008 with the likes of Dan Lothian and Brianna Keilar and after some time, he was elevated to the position of a senior White House Correspondent for CNN.

FOX News Career

Ed Henry left CNN on June 20, 2011, to become the Chief White House Correspondent for Fox News Channel. Following the announcement of his departure, it was revealed that his reason for leaving CNN was based on the management of CNN informing him that his contract will not be extended. However, reacting to the talks making the rounds about his departure from the network, Ed didn’t make mention of this in an interview he had with Don Imus, rather, he created an analogy of CNN and FOX News where he opined that we wanted to be with FOX.

At FOX News, he did not fail to express how delighted he feels working with the news station, stating that he feels freer there and in fact, feels FOX News has been badly criticized by other news networks including CNN.

Ed Henry is happily married to Shirley Henry, a CNN senior producer. The two had been in a relationship for a couple of years before tying the knot in a 2010 Las Vegas wedding ceremony. Their marriage has seen to the birth of two children, a son named Patrick Henry and a daughter named Mila Henry.

However, marital crises came knocking in 2016 following the revelations made by a Las Vegas stripper Natalia Lima whom he had an affair in 2015. Natalia further made available, texts [sexts] and a picture of his manhood he sent to her to lay credence to her claim of the veteran broadcaster getting down with her. She disclosed that they spent time and slept together as often as he was in Las Vegas.

In the heat of all these accusations, with many media houses picking up the story and fuelling public interest in it, Ed Henry took some time off FOX News to sort things out for himself. He stayed as long as four months away from the media and didn’t deny the accusations. Perhaps, he felt that the facts were too glaring to contest. What is not known however is why the stripper chose to make public what happened to be a 10-months old secret between the two adults.

As you would expect, Ed Henry lost his White House correspondent position and became a chief national correspondent; a lower position when he returned to FOX News in late August 2016. In addition to this, he got kicked out of the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016.

Despite the sordid nature of the accusation and the facts supporting it, Ed Henry’s wife Shirley Henry didn’t divorce him as would have been the case with other women. She didn’t utter a word about the whole mess, at least not one that was reported by the media. They still live together as one family with their children.
