The spate of remixes, remakes and sequels is not likely to end anytime soon. With Total Dhamaal set to be released, director Indra Kumar has already finalised his next project. The director has reportedly finalised the script for a sequel of the Aamir Khan-Madhuri Dixit 1990 romance, Dil.
Kumar reportedly told the daily DNA, “I had been planning to make the sequel to Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer Dil for some time now. We have cracked a script and called it Dil Again.”
Directed by Kumar, Dil (1990) was one of the big hits of his career. The film proved to be a musical success, and also won Dixit the Filmfare award for Best Actress that year.
It was remade into Telugu as Tholi Muddhu (1993) and in Kannada as Sivaranjani (1997).
While it is not yet known if Kumar will have Khan and Dixit making an appearance in the sequel, the director was quoted as confirming that he is on the “lookout for new actors”.
Kumar’s current film, Total Dhamaal, will see Anil Kapoor and Dixit team up once again. The film will be out in theatres on 22 February.
