It’s been over two years since the first single — ‘Maruvaarthai’ — from Dhanush-starrer Enai Noki Paayum Thota was released. The film, which marks the maiden collaboration between Dhanush and Gautham Menon, is still struggling to find a release, despite being wrapped up last September.
Finally, there’s some good news for the fans of Dhanush and Menon as the film has been submitted for a censor certificate. According to producer Madan, who posted on his Twitter page, the film is expected to get a censor certificate this week.
The final schedule of the film was shot in Mumbai in which actor-filmmaker Sasikumar, who plays a cameo in the film, shot for his portion. Last September, Menon took to Twitter to announce the completion of the project and also confirmed that Enai Noki Paayum Thota was gearing up for a Diwali release.
However, there’s been no update on the film’s release since that announcement. Therefore, fans were naturally thrilled when Madan shared an important update on the film.
Dhanush, in a recent media interaction, revealed that the delay in the release of the film is not in his hands. He said: “I’ve shot for the film whenever Gautham sir has asked me to come. It’s not my fault the film hasn’t released yet. It’s not in my hands. As an actor, I’ve completed my duty. I don’t know exactly what’s causing the film’s delay but I hope it releases soon [sic].”
One of the reasons for the long time taken to complete the project is that producer Madan, who had bankrolled Dhanush’s Kodi (2016), hadn’t cleared his remuneration for a long time and the latter gave up on the project.
The film also stars Megha Akash, who was supposed to be launched with this project, but went on to star in four films, including Rajinikanth’s Petta (2018).
