Deepika Padukone on the cover of US Vogue with Scarlett Johansson, Bae Doona

It’s been two years since Deepika Padukone made her international debut with xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), but the actress hasn’t been forgotten in Hollywood, instead she has landed the cover of the prestigious Vogue magazine, the American cover, alongside actresses Scarlett Johansson and Bae Doona from USA and South Korea, respectively. The three stars are dressed in florals with flowers weaved into their hair.

Padukone was chosen as the American magazine’s celebration of global talent, selecting superstars from 14 different countries. The other worldwide talents include English actress Vanessa Kirby, France’s Lea Seydoux, Australia’s Elizabeth Debicki, Mexico’s Eiza González, Iran’s Golshifteh Farahani, Nigeria’s Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Iceland’s Hera Hilmar, Germany’s Liv Lisa Fries, Brazil’s Bruna Marquezine and Italy’s Alba Rohrwacher who also feature on other covers next month.

The April issue of Vogue also features a remembrance to fashion moghul and designer Karl Lagerfeld by editor Anna Wintour.

The Indian actress, who last starred in Padmaavat (2018), is in production on Chhapaak (2019) with director Meghna Gulzar. She is currently in London to unveil her wax statue at Madame Tussauds with husband Ranveer Singh and her parents.

Padukone joked that Singh who is due to feature in the sports film, ’83, in London soon, can come visit her statue at the museum whenever he misses her.
