David Bromstad is an American designer, artist and on-air personality. He was born as David Reed Bromstad on August 17, 1973, in Cokato, Minnesota, U.S into the family of Richard Harold David Bromstad, his father and Diane Marlys Bromstad, his mother. He is the youngest of four kids born of the couple. His three other siblings are: Dynelle Renee Bromstad, Dyonne Rachael Bromstad and Dean Richard Bromstad.
David has mixed ethnicity and an American nationality. His father is of Norwegian decent while his mother is of Swedish and German heritage. His zodiac sign is Leo.
He attended Wayzata high school before he later attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. The school is known as a starting point for individuals who end up working for Disney. He later worked as a Disney illustrator after graduating from the school.
In 2006, David contested for HGTV’s Design Star debut season. They were in need of a new host for their cable network. He won the show, defeating nine other contestants for the grand prize: a car and a chance to host his own show on the cable network.
He became a guest judge on the show in the following seasons.
Before he competed in HGTV’s Design Star, and just after leaving Disney, he owned a company named Bromstad Studio, which designed fantasy bedrooms for children.
After winning HGTV’s Design Star, he started his own TV show Color Splash which made its debut on HGTV in March 2007.
He currently anchors on design star, beach flip and challenges 7-island dreams. He is also the host of my lottery dream home. These shows are broadcasted on HGTV.

In the interview, he disclosed he was gay. He also said he has been dating his gay boyfriend for eight years as at the time of the interview in 2012.
David Bromstad and Jeffrey Glasko dated from 2004 to 2015 before calling it quits. Before they began dating, the pair had seen on different occasions but never talked, not until they met at a bar at Firestone in Orlando, at a valentine’s day single party, that was where they kicked off their dating life.
The then-couple had a nasty breakup. According to Jeffrey, the cause of their breakup was as a result of David’s drugs and drinking problem. Just after the pair split up, Jeffrey filed a lawsuit against David. He claimed David left him emotionally and financially devastated. He also said that David was caught up in drugs and the sex world. But still, David won the case after the Judge ruled against Jeffery’s claims and dismissed all accusations against David.
David has since put the lawsuit and his break up with Jeffrey behind him, posting pictures of himself having a good time in Miami. He posted pictures on his Instagram page of him having a nice time at Miami beach gay pride party on February 9, 2017. Almost like there was no effect of his breakup with Jeffrey or the lawsuit on him.
Since his breakup with Jeffery Glasko in 2015, there were rumours of David dating again but no solid proof of him dating has actually surfaced. No other information relating to David’s love life has surfaced on the media or public notice.
The reality TV show anchor isn’t married yet and also has no kids. He seems to be focusing more on his career.
David isn’t completely alone, his family includes miss lady Godiva Bonbon and Dozer Bubbas, his two pet dogs.
