Bombay high court disposes of Moushumi Chatterjee’s plea for guardianship of daughter Payal

The Bombay high court has disposed of the plea of veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee and her husband Jayanta Mukherjee for guardianship of their daughter Payal, who is currently in a coma.

Chatterjee and her husband had accused son-in-law Dicky Sinha of not taking proper care of Payal and letting them meet her.

The case was first heard by the high court on 22 November and the next hearing was to take place on 24 November.

On the same day, Sinha filed an affidavit in court where he accused the parents of creating “false and misleading” information about him.

According to Sinha, he has been taking good care of Payal and also has CCTV footage of her parents visiting her daily.

He also said in the affidavit that he has not stopped paying the nurses who are taking care of Payal.

The bench comprising justices BP Dharmadhikari and Sarang Kotwal said the matter should have been resolved at home and should not have come to the court in the first place.

Payal’s parents had also accused Sinha of not giving them access to her medical documents. Sinha rubbished such accusations and offered to hand them over to the parents.

Sinha was also accused of allegedly sending an angry message on WhatsApp to his in-laws. Sinha said it was because they visited Payal’s doctor without his knowledge to obtain a general letter on her treatment.
