Veteran actor Boman Irani is the latest cast member of the biopic on India’s prime minister Narendra Modi. Titled PM Narendra Modi, the film is directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sandip Ssingh and Suresh Oberoi. Vivek Anand Oberoi will be playing the role of Modi.
“We are glad to welcome Boman sir as part of the cast. I believe a strong cast is a foundation to making a great film. We are very excited to have such amazing actors on board and I can’t wait to begin shooting,” said Singh in a statement to IANS. He added that Irani will add the “much-needed experience and depth” to the film.
Irani is also happy to be sharing screen with Vivek and starting the new year with this film. “It’s an honour to be chosen to be a part of such a landmark film. It’s a strong team comprising Sandip Ssingh, Omung Kumar and Vivek Anand Oberoi, and I am looking forward to working with them. This has been a great start to my new year and I am looking forward to this remarkable journey,” he said in the statement.
Irani’s character in the film is being kept under wraps currently.
PM Narendra Modi will be Irani’s second biopic after Sanju (2018). This is also his second film with Vivek after Home Delivery: Aapko… Ghar Tak (2005). Interestingly, Irani was a part of Dev Anand’s Mr Prime Minister (2005) and he himself played India’s prime minister in Youngistaan (2014).
