Arjun Reddy Tamil remake rechristened Adithya Varma

Varmaa, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy (2017), has been rechristened as Adithya Varma and its makers teased audiences with the first look poster on Tuesday. The poster heavily resembles the original poster of Arjun Reddy and also features the same font for the title.

The makers of the film had announced last week that they would reshoot the entire film after being disappointed with the output delivered by director Bala, who was roped in to helm the project at the behest of actor Vikram.

Adithya Varma, which was earlier slated for release this March, marks the debut of actor Vikram’s son Dhruv, who will be reprising Vijay Deverakonda’s role.

According to the poster, Girisayya, former associate of Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Vanga, has been roped in to direct Adithya Varma, replacing Bala.

Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand have been signed as the leading ladies. While Sandhu will reprise Shalini Pandey’s role, Priya is believed to be playing herself.

Well-known lensman Ravi K Chandran will do the camerawork. Interesting fact is that while Ravi is working on the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy; his son Santhana Krishnan is working on the Hindi version Kabir Singh.

Regular shooting is expected to commence from later this month or early March. Radhan has been roped in to compose the music.

Arjun Reddy, which features Vijay Deverakonda in a breakout role, is the story of an obsessive lover with drinking problems.
