“On Saturday night my man would always deliver,” Sandler sang. “Whether he was the Bumblebee Girl or livin’ in a van down by the river.”
Sandler’s been performing “Farley” for a while now on tour and footage has made its way to the internet here and there, but it was particularly eye-misting to watch the comedian do a rendition on the very stage he and Farley created a number of their most iconic characters. (Often together, like “Zagats” and “Lunch Lady Land“.) I know Sandler has become a bit of a punchline ’round these parts and for anyone whose watched his comedic output…pretty much anytime post-2002, but this was genuinely sweet. You’d be hard-pressed to not get emotional watching the dude eulogize his rotund, Energizer Bunny best friend while clips of old photos and the Chippendales sketch play in the background. I teared up watching Saturday Night Live. 2019 is very weird!

If you’re feeling a bit emotional after all that—understandable—here’s a much more lighthearted trip down memory lane, as Sandler reprised his Opera Man role on this week’s Weekend Update:
And, okay, here’s the cold open too, because that Thanos outfit truly is the stuff nightmares are made of and if I have to see it, you do as well. (Kate McKinnon‘s Brienne of Tarth is unsurprisingly A++, though.)
