A glimpse of how a predator attacks its prey in the dark

The trailer of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike has received a thunderous response. While it does away with the cliched jingoism, the trailer had enough ammo to conquer your imagination. The makers have now released a new teaser of an action sequence from the film.

Based on the Indian army’s surgical strike on Pakistani soil in 2016, the film is bound to have action. What’s special about this teaser is that it thrills with shots of Indian soldiers crawling their way to the enemy camp, using hi–tech night vision goggles.

While the use of night vision goggles is not new in films, it has been aptly used to portray Indian soldiers going about their mission in Uri. The crawling Indian soldiers, the enemy camps, trees all appear in thermal images. Such visuals are usually reminiscent of predator stealthily hunting down its prey in the jungle. The teaser not only shows new India’s physical strength, but also the hi-tech gadgets that are available. The makers have called the sequence ‘Strike 1: Night Vision’.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike is set to be released on 11 January.
