Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero drops further after Christmas

Director Aanand L Rai’s Zero has been struggling at the box office to earn impressive numbers right from the first day of its release. The film finished its important first weekend under Rs60 crore.

After a slightly inconsequential jump on Christmas [25 December], the Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer, as expected, dropped further yesterday. It earned around Rs4.50 to 5 crore in the day, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Zero has been receiving severely negative reviews and word-of-mouth. This has reflected badly on the film at the box office, just like it did for Thugs Of Hindostan (2018) last month.

The grand total for Zero currently is Rs85 crore. As per trade experts, the film has a high cost of production of around Rs200 crore. Needless to say, with such a total currently, the film is heading nowhere even near to its cost. In fact, we need to wait and watch to see if the film even reaches the Rs100 crore mark.

The release of Simmba, which stars Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, tomorrow won’t help the cause for Zero either. There is a good amount of buzz in favour of the Rohit Shetty directorial.
