Amitabh Bachchan wraps up shooting for Syeraa Narsimha Reddy; director, Sudeep write emotional posts

Actor Amitabh Bachchan, who will be soon playing a cameo in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Telugu magnum opus Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, has completed shooting for his portion in the highly anticipated project. This will be his second Telugu outing after previously appearing in a fleeting scene in Telugu romantic drama, Manam (2014).

On Saturday, director Reddy Surender took to Twitter to share the news and thanked the legendary star for being part of the project.

“It’s a wrap with Big B. What an amazing and incredible journey it has been. Thank you sir for being part of Sye Raa. Working with you was such a great honor [sic],” Reddy wrote.

Kannada superstar Sudeep, who plays a crucial role in the film, also shared an emotional post on the experience of working with Bachchan. The two had previously worked together in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rann (2010).

“10 years post shoot of Rann, I get to share screen with this huge icon and a legend once again, and who’s spent most of his life serving cinema and entertaining us. Thanks Sye Raa, Ram Charan and @DirSurender for having gifted me these moments. Thank u @SrBachchan sir for your loving gestures,” Sudeep posted.

In Syeraa Narasimha Reddy, which retells the epic story of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, Bachchan is rumoured to be playing Chiranjeevi’s mentor.

The film, which has music by Amit Trivedi, also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia and Jagapathi Babu in crucial roles.
