Parineeti Chopra replaces Shraddha Kapoor in Saina Nehwal biopic

During an interview earlier this week for her upcoming film Kesari, Parineeti Chopra had said that we would get to know about her next film this week itself. It is now learnt that the actress has replaced Shraddha Kapoor in the Saina Nehwal biopic titled Saina, to be directed by Amole Gupte. The decision has come as a surprise.

As per a report in tabloid Mumbai Mirror, the decision was taken by the actress and producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series mutually because of Kapoor’s date issues.

Kumar confirmed the same with the publication saying, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”

Shraddha has a jam-packed filmography as she is currently shooting Chhichhore, Street Dancer 3D, Saaho and Baaghi 3.

But the actress had already taken extensive training in badminton to essay the character of badminton champion Nehwal. She had even shot few portions of the film in September last year, but was soon diagnosed with dengue.
