Varun Dhawan goes ‘Baahubali’ as he takes the bull by the horns

Varun Dhawan’s turn as Zafar in Abhishek Varman’s upcoming Kalank has definitely caught the attention of audiences. Playing an intense, angry young man, the actor seems to have switched from his usually light-hearted and hilarious turns as a comic hero. The latest poster of Varman’s film brings a more action-packed perspective of the actor’s character in the film.

The poster sees Dhawan take a bull by the horns, quite literally. The scene was present in the teaser, where the actor walked out of what seemed to be a colosseum as he took on an angry bull.

The scene is also a throwback to the famous bull-fighting sequence from Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), where Rana Daggubati’s Bhallala Deva took on a computer-generated bull.

However, this one sets the tone for the anger boiling within Zafar. The teaser hinted at a sense of injustice that revolved around Zafar and Roop, and it seems that anger will mark a turning point in Varman’s story.

Kalank also feature Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Alia Bhatt. The film will be out in theatres on 17 April.
